......The Science La Main A La Pate Workshop......
This is something that I would like to share with you guys regarding the workshop that I am attending this week. It is very beneficial for us the Science teachers as we are able to strengthen our knowledge in teaching Science by applying the "inquiry" approach. Can you guys spot me?
*chuckled* UmmiRosma is wearing the black and white tudong (head scarf)...

This is the extraction of the article written by Fadhil Yunus from the Borneo Bulletin and the photo is a courtesy of Ministry of Education.

"The science educators applying the logic and reason of science as a way to enhance their teaching skills. - 25 teachers attended the La Main A La Pate Workshop, a hands-on science workshop for educators, at the Katok "A" Primary School in Tungku yesterday. The science workshop was initiated by Mrs Estelle Blanquet, from the University of Nice, France and jointly organised by the Human Resource Development Section and Department of the Ministry of Education. The programme covered 10 mandatory principles in which teachers had to observe in order to gain an understanding of the practicalities of scientific knowledge. Some of the principles included the need to fill in their science notebooks with their own words, pairing up with scientific partners to accompany them in their work and also involved the training of vocational schools. The workshop is designed to enhance the teachers' knowledge and their understanding of science and the practicalities of inquiry. Teachers are taught and trained to readily identify and apply scientific argument and reason."

....cakes............
The first one is my mom's all-time-favourite steamed cake. She loves making it and we enjoy eating every slice of it! It is such a delicious traditional cake. The middle one has cherries filled with cashew nuts. And the last one is a baked layered cake with chocolate rice sprinkled on every layer. One of the ingredients is golden syrup. I think that why it is named as Lapis Kencana..well...'kencana' means golden syrup...my mom said.

My mom and I made these layered cakes last Friday. The brightly-coloured one on top is one of my favourites, not only because its attractive colours, but the prunes that are filled with cakes make this steamed layered cake exclusive.
On the very left has 'yam' as its main ingredient. The yam has to be mashed first and it does taste "yammy"! In the middle is "dotty" because of the haw flakes. It tastes sweet and sour. The last one on the right does have haw flakes too and Van Houten chocolate bars arranged on alternate layers. It is a steamed layered cake, thus the texture is moist.

Ummi Gotcha Snapped Habibi!

I managed to snap some shots of this little "spiderman's" actions which I later showed to my hubby. I bet Habibi didn't realize what Ummi was doing.

Does this show that Habibi is bored with the swing?

Or is he being mischieviously creative?

Hi every one....as we are still in the world breastfeeding week...I have got a meaningful quotation regarding breastfeeding which I would love to share with the breastfeeding moms out there.
"A pair of substantial mammary glands have the advantage over the two hemispheres of the most learned professor's brain in the art of compounding a nutritive fluid for infants"
Oliver Wendell Holmes
